New Chair and Board member for HomeStart

State Government-backed lender HomeStart has recently welcomed a new Chair and board member to its Board.

Businessman John Hood, who is also the Chancellor of Flinders University, recently commenced as Chair. Mr Hood is the co-founder and partner of accounting and advisory firm Humanee and has a background in accounting, with his professional history including roles at PwC, mhm and Deloitte.

New board member Susan Crago is Chief Governance and Risk Officer at the RAA, where she leads the legal, company secretary, risk and compliance teams. Ms Crago has worked in legal and finance sector roles for more than 20 years, previously holding senior executive positions at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank.

The changes follow long-serving HomeStart Board Chair Jim Kouts concluding his term.

Homestart CEO Andrew Mills welcomed the new Board members and thanked the outgoing Chair.

“John and Susan have exceptional skills and commercial expertise, as well as strong alignment with HomeStart’s values and purpose,” Mr Mills said.

“I look forward to working with them and the wider board on helping more South Australians into home ownership. I also thank outgoing Chair Jim Kouts for his outstanding contribution and support for HomeStart over many years”

HomeStart’s Board members are currently John Hood (Chair), Andrew Seaton (Chair Audit & Risk), Stella Thredgold (Chair ALCO), Shanti Berggren, Richard Bryant, and Susan Crago.
