Our low-deposit Construction Loans give you the freedom to build a home that suits your lifestyle.
Applying for a new home loan online can take between 30 to 45 minutes. You can save your application as you go and complete it when it suits you.
Once you’ve submitted your application, a member of our team will be in touch to verify the details and guide you through the next steps.
Please note that if you’ve already had an offer accepted on a house or have land and building contracts, let us know in the comments section of the online application or alternatively call us on 1300 636 878 and ask for one of our Home Loan Specialists.
You won’t be able to apply online if you:
- Are applying with three or more people for the loan
- Are applying for a Seniors Equity or Home Equity loan
- Are applying to refinance an existing loan, or;
- Do not provide your consent for your income, expenses, loans and credit card information to be provided to us electronically.
In these situations, simply contact us and our team will help you with your application.
You can apply over the phone by calling us on 1300 636 878 during our office hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
A member of our team will talk to you about your plans, your savings, income, and any other financial commitments you may have.
If you’re ready to apply, we will connect you with one of our Home Loan Specialists.
You will need to provide us with information about your identity, income and expenses. Please have these ready to assist you with completing your online application.
Identification documents
Each applicant on the loan application will need to provide either their current Passport or Driver’s Licence details.
Your income
- If you are employed full time or part time you will need to provide your gross income amount (before tax) for the week, fortnight, or month you are paid.
- If you are casually employed you will need to provide your expected gross income (before tax) for the week, fortnight, or month you are paid.
- If you receive an income from Centrelink, provide the amount received fortnightly, and do not include rent assistance.
- If you receive child support payments include the weekly, fortnightly or monthly amount you receive.
- If you are self-employed provide the last financial year’s taxable income.
Your deposit
If you have saved for a deposit, you will need to tell us the amount you are contributing towards the purchase of your home.
Your expenses
We calculate your living expenses for you, after you have provided your bank statements to us through the secure bank statements section of the application. We verify this information through an industry-trusted service provider.
If you don’t want to verify your financial details and household expenses online, you can contact us on 1300 636 878 to re-start your application and provide copies of your account statements manually. If you provide this information manually, it will take us longer to review your application.
One of our Home Loan Specialists will be in touch to book an appointment and let you know what other documents you may need to provide. In the appointment, they will explain your loan options so you can choose the one that’s right for you and ask you questions about your financial situation.
The appointment will be in-person at your closest HomeStart office or by video conference, whichever suits you.
