At HomeStart, we believe in the power of home ownership, the freedom that comes with it – and that anyone who wants to own their own home should have the opportunity.

Our purpose is to make this dream a reality for those who most need our help.

Today, we are embarking on a new chapter of our story, and we’re excited to announce a new look that better reflects our purpose of achieving home ownership for people who feel shut out.

Why do we look a bit different?

As home ownership and our customers’ needs evolve, so must HomeStart. This is how we’ve been able to help so many South Australians into their own home over the past 34 years.

Buying a home in 2024 is very different to when HomeStart opened its doors back in 1989, and the last few years have significantly changed home buying, lending and how customers engage with us.

To continue to meet the South Australian community’s needs, we are modernising and enhancing the way we look, while protecting the recognition and trust we have built with the South Australian community over more than three decades.

What’s changing?

HomeStart’s identity stands as a testament to our rich history, reflecting the values and principles that have made us a trusted partner in the pursuit of home ownership.

Our new look is not just about a new logo – it’s about renewing our commitment to the community to help us achieve our purpose of opening more doors for those who feel shut out.

We understand that buying a home is a significant step and we want to make the journey as smooth as possible.

What can you expect from HomeStart?

You can expect us to be true to our values of:

Opportunity: What we provide isn’t just a home loan. It’s belief, hope, and possibility for those who may have lost it and those who have never had it before.

Determination: We’re relentless in finding ways to say yes, where others say no. With a singular focus, we are dedicated to making home ownership a reality for all South Australians.

Openness: We are open, inclusive, and accepting and choose understanding and empathy over selling. We welcome new ideas and bring diversity to the market.

Simplicity: Financial products are known for being complicated. We’re always looking to make things easier. We don’t use jargon, we speak the way real people do, and we work every day to simplify our processes and products.

HomeStart Chief Executive Officer Andrew Mills said a lot has changed since 1989, when HomeStart began but what motivates us hasn’t.

At HomeStart we fundamentally believe that all South Australians should have the opportunity to own their own home,” said Mr Mills.

“At a time when it’s getting harder and harder to do that, we’re more committed than ever to finding ways to help South Australians enjoy the benefits of home ownership.”

“Our refreshing new look reflects this commitment and backed by a new advertising campaign will help more South Australians to engage with HomeStart and make their dreams a reality.”

So, whether you’re starting out, or starting over, with HomeStart – It’s home time.
