Getting an approval in principle

An Approval in Principle gives you an idea of how much you can borrow. It shows HomeStart will lend you a certain amount of money to buy a property, as long as the information you have supplied is correct and all conditions are met.
With an Approval in Principle you can:
- start looking for the home you want
- make an offer on a property with confidence
- take up to 3 months to find your home.
We can arrange an Approval in Principle 5 to 10 days after your loan application has been assessed, if you meet our eligibility criteria.
If it takes longer than 3 months to find a home, your Loan Consultant can reassess you for a new Approval in Principle.
