HomeStart's website has been designed so that it caters to a broad range of user needs. We have incorporated design elements that are:
- Visually appealing
- Consistent, simple and meaningful
- Small in file size - allowing pages to download fast and efficiently
Deaf or Hearing Impairment
HomeStart is now a deafness friendly location.
As a participant of DeafSA's ‘Hi’ deafness friendly program, HomeStart has incorporated specialised hearing systems into our workplace. This equipment will ensure deaf and hearing impaired customers, clients and staff have full access to HomeStart's products and services.

Visual Impairment
Other features to improve accessibility include:
- Alt tags on all images used within the site to assist screen reading technologies
- Descriptive links to assist visually-impaired people to navigate the site
- Use of Adobe Acrobat a PDF Reader that enables screen reading technologies
Slow connection speeds
We have designed pages to cater to:
- People who view the web with images switched off (such as rural or remote users)
- People who experience slower than average connection speeds (such as rural and remote users or people using older modems)
Language translations
HomeStart Finance offers
multi-language translations of PDF documents for our Home Loan products. This information is translated into community languages.
