Deposit Information
At HomeStart, we know that saving for a deposit is often one of the biggest hurdles you will face when buying a home.
To help you overcome this challenge, we have put in place several options to help relieve the stress that saving for a deposit can cause. It's our way of giving you a little extra help to get you on your way to home ownership.
At HomeStart, we lend for the purchase of an established home, for land, or to build a new home. For people who are looking to buy an established home and who meet the necessary criteria, HomeStart has options that require a smaller deposit. We also accept the First Home Owner Grant towards your deposit and/or fees and charges.
Also with HomeStart loans, you will need to demonstrate $1,000 or more of your own savings (over at least three months) or you will need to demonstrate a minimum 12 months satisfactory rental history through an independent third party (such as a private landlord or a property manager linked to a real estate company).
